The theatrical performance ‘Mr Schoenberg's Bizarre Tales’ is an attempt to move away from the framework of perceiving musical heritage only in the academic halls of conservatories and philharmonic societies. This work is a kind of provocation. It combines music, contemporary dance, theatre and visual art. Play as a state and as a process is the basis of our performance. We are inviting you to plunge into the bizarre world of fairy tales, fairy tales for adults, in which the game will unite performers and spectators. The premiere performances took place in Kyiv at the Dakh Contemporary Art Centre and in Lviv at the Les Kurbas Lviv Academic Theatre in October 2024.

The project is implemented by Scenography Gallery in partnership with Studio Fugu / PUC - Pop Up Collective (Vienna, Austria) within the framework of the Per Forma grant programme implemented by the Kyiv Contemporary Music Days platform with the support of the Performing Arts Fund NL and the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science of the Netherlands for the development of the performing arts sector in Ukraine, with the support of the Austrian Cooperation Office in Lviv.
