Education:
She studied at the Taras Shevchenko Republican Art High School (now the Taras Shevchenko State Art High School). In 1985, she graduated from the Kyiv Art Institute (now the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture). Her teachers are Danylo Lider and Inna Bychenkova.
Liudmyla Nahorna works in the field of scenography and theatrical costume, easel painting. From 1985 to 1992 she was a production designer, from 1992 to 2020 she was the chief artist of the Kyiv Municipal Academic Opera and Ballet Theater for Children and Youth.
On the stage of the Kyiv Academic Opera and Ballet Theater for Children and Youth, she has performed more than 35 productions - operas and ballets, as a production designer and costume designer.
Teaching experience:
2005 - 2011 - Senior Lecturer at the Department of Scenography and Screen Arts of the National Academy of Arts and Sciences of Ukraine (discipline - costume modeling in space).
2008 - 2019 - senior lecturer, specialist of the highest category at the Kyiv Theater Studio School (taught the basics of scenography at the scenography department). Since 2021 - Senior Lecturer at the Department of Scenography and Screen Arts at the National Academy of Arts and Sciences of Ukraine. Since 2022 - acting Head of the Department of Scenography and Multimedia at the National Academy of Arts and Sciences of Ukraine.
